Hilary Duff looks back on some of her naughty and nice moments in a new Dunkin’ campaign.
The ad highlights the chain’s pair of festive new Munchkin flavors, Holiday Sprinkle and Salted Dark Chocolate.
“Hosting for the holiday season is always so chaotic. I need a little naughty to balance out the nice,” Duff begins the cheeky video, posted to Instagram on Monday, Dec. 15.
The Lizzie McGuire star, 38, then plucks a pair of Munchkins from their box.

“Balance is key,” says a voice coming from the Holiday Sprinkle treat, while the Salted Dark Chocolate variety asks, “Did someone say naughty?”
“Contrary to popular belief, I can be naughty,” Duff insists.
“My legal name is literally coal. You’re going to have to crank up the heat, girlfriend,” says the mischievous Munchkin.
Duff then pulls out a book labeled “Hilary’s Naughty & Nice List,” instructing the two confections to “buckle up.”
“Texting to say ‘I’ll be there in five,’ nice,” she says. “Hitting ‘send’ while I’m still horizontal in bed, naughty.”

“Making every millennial’s dream come true when I announce new music, nice!” she goes on, to which the “nice” Munchkin replies, “Not all heroes wear capes.”
In November, Duff shared the title, cover and release date for her upcoming album luck...or something, weeks after releasing a new single, "Mature." The new release comes more than a decade after Duff's last full-length album, 2015's Breathe In. Breathe Out.
Duff then proceeded to balance out the last gesture with another “naughty” admission.
“Telling my kids they can’t have Dunkin’ Munchkins for dessert so that I can have them for dinner,” Duff says.
“You are naughty,” the dark chocolate Munchkin says.
Duff welcomed her first child, son Luca Cruz, 13, in 2012, with her then-husband Mike Comrie. Duff married Matthew Koma in 2019 and welcomed daughters Banks Violet, 7, and Mae James, 4, in 2018 and 2021, respectively. In December 2023, Duff announced she was expecting her fourth child, and Townes was born in May 2024.

“Moral of the story is, being all naughty or all nice? That’s so yesterday,” she says, referring to her 2003 hit of the same name, from her second studio album, Metamorphosis.
The nostalgic references don't stop there. The official Dunkin' Instagram account commented on the video, "This is what dreams are made of," quoting a recognizable song from the Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack.
Dunkin’ describes its Salted Dark Chocolate Munchins as “rich, salty-sweet, and carrying just enough ‘lump of coal’ energy to make you feel delightfully mischievous.”
They’re the choice for snackers who are “unafraid of ending up on the naughty list this season.”
As for its red, green and white Holiday Sprinkle Munchkins, those are “full of nice-list energy.”
“They’re the treat you bring when you’re trying to be your best holiday self…or at least look like it,” Dunkin’ adds.
