Russell Brand gave his take on ex-wife Katy Perry dating Justin Trudeau while appearing the Megyn Kelly Show.
The comic described the former Prime Minister of Canada as "Fidel Castro's spawn."

Russell Brand is not holding back about ex-wife Katy Perry's relationship with Justin Trudeau.
While appearing on Wednesday's episode of the Megyn Kelly Show, the comic was asked how he feels about Perry, who he was married to from 2010 to 2012, dating the former Prime Minister of Canada.
"I've put up with a lot with that ex-wife of mine, but you took it too far, KP," Brand said of Perry's latest romance, before noting his fondness for the "Firework" singer's ex Orlando Bloom.
"Legolas! I love that guy!" Brand said while mimicking Bloom's Lord of the Rings Elven character by pretending to shoot a bow and arrow.

Calling Trudeau "Fidel Castro's spawn," Brand continued to criticize the Canadian politician's moves while in office. Trudeau served as prime minister of Canada from 2015 to 2025, leading the Liberal Party from 2013 until his resignation in 2025.
"I do not like that Trudeau," Brand told Kelly, mentioning he took issue with Trudeau "having a go at them truckers," referring to when the former prime minister invoked the Emergencies Act in 2022 to end the "Freedom Convoy" protests.
Truck drivers blocked border crossings across Canada to oppose the country's COVID-19 vaccine mandates for cross-border drivers, with protests soon expanding to protest all COVID-19 restrictions and mandates. While most protests were peaceful, there were reports of far-right extremist groups, including neo-Nazi-linked networks and white nationalists, being active participants and supporters of the convoy. The move by Trudeau allowed the government to freeze protester's bank account, but was later ruled unconstitutional by a Federal Court.
"They called them Nazis," Brand said, to which Kelly responded, "That was ridiculous."

"They were just being sort of bold and brave," Brand added.
Brand also chided Trudeau for pretending to be "ultra woke," recalling his honoring a Nazi war veteran in Canadian Parliament, which Trudeau later apologized for and said was a "terrible mistake."
"I specifically don't like what is typified by those good-looking politicians — Obama, Macron, Blair — they're sort of good-looking and they're charming," Brand added. "But you think... who do you work for, really? Who's running this? Because it can't be you."
