Star Search has returned to discover a new generation of talent.
The iconic competition series is back for another revival, this time on Netflix. Comedian and black-ish star Anthony Anderson is on hand to host the new Star Search, featuring celebrity judges Jelly Roll, Chrissy Teigen and Sarah Michelle Gellar — but as Teigen said in the trailer, “The most important judge is you.”
For the reimagined Star Search, viewers will be able to vote in real time during the episodes, using their TV remotes or the Netflix app.
"The live voting feature is a total game-changer," Anderson told Tudum. "Knowing that fans from all over the world can cast their votes in real time adds a whole new layer of excitement and participation to the mix. It’s like we’re all part of the show and get to be one of the judges."

The revival of the classic talent competition series premiered on Jan. 20.
"Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across numerous categories — music, dance, variety, comedy, magic and juniors — as they compete head to head for their shot at stardom," the official series description reads.
Star Search originally ran from 1983 to 1995, and was a launchpad for soon-to-be-superstars like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Dave Chappelle, Rosie O'Donnell, Adam Sandler and many more.
After its initial run, the series returned briefly from 2003 to 2004.
"The range of talent we’re going to see is going to blow you away," Anderson told Tudum about the new Netflix version. "And I can't wait for audiences to experience all the performances, surprises and sheer excitement that this new era of Star Search will deliver."

Netflix's Star Search will be a five-week-long event with a total of nine episodes.
According to executive producer Jesse Collins, viewers will be introduced to contestants in the first two episodes.
"At episode 9, that'll be our final four, and then that's when the world has to decide who the winner is," Collins told Gold Derby.
What is the Star Search episode release schedule?
Netflix's Star Search will air for five weeks, with two new live episodes every week until the finale week. The episodes will premiere on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, leading up to the finale on Feb. 17.

New episodes of Star Search debut Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Netflix.
Viewers will be able to vote in real time during the episodes, using their TV remote or Netflix app. According to Netflix, voting will happen "multiple times per episode."
Netflix's Star Search is a reimagining, but it will honor the classic version of the series, as Collins explained to Gold Derby.
"We got to make it feel fresh and contemporary for today and then figure out somewhere between a nod and an Easter egg for the original version," the executive producer teased.
