Tom Hanks is showing his support for his son Chet Hanks' band, Something Out West.
The Oscar-winning actor was spotted bopping and singing along during the band's performance at Stagecoach Festival over the weekend.
Chet's mom, actress and singer Rita Wilson, also celebrated the band's "fantastic set" in a comment on Instagram.

The Forrest Gump star, 69, was spotted showing his support for his son’s country band, Something Out West, during their set at Stagecoach festival in Indio, Calif., over the weekend.
In video footage from the event shared on social media, Tom could be seen bopping his head and singing along to the band’s 2025 hit “You Better Run” from inside the Toyota Music Den on Saturday.

And, as it turns out, Tom has a special connection to the track. He actually makes an appearance in its Forrest Gump-themed music video, which sees him sit down on a bench before spotting Chet — dressed as his eponymous character — and turning to look at the camera with a surprised expression.
The video also includes several other references to the Oscar-winning film, including a shrimp boat named Jenny, Chet holding a box of chocolates, and running through the forest.
Something Out West, which is comprised of Chet and bandmate Drew Arthur, released their debut EP, Leaving Hollywood, last June. The band celebrated their performance by posting a photo — which included Tom and wife Rita Wilson— on their Instagram after the gig.
“We were there man,” the band captioned their post.

Wilson also got her own chance to be a proud parent in the comment section, writing, “Such a fantastic set!!!!!”

Chet recently made headlines when he announced that he was casually stranded in Colombia after leaving his U.S. passport at home.
The Running Point star explained the unfortunate situation in an Instagram video last month, revealing that he tried to return to the United States using his Greek passport after visiting a friend in Medellín, Colombia, but was turned away.
"I go to check into my flight three hours early, this is an international flight, and they tell me that if I’m using a foreign passport, I need a green card to get back into America," Chet recalled. “I don't have a green card. Because I’m an American citizen.”
Laughing at the situation, Chet added at the time, "I don’t have my American passport with me. So I’m literally stuck in Colombia. I’m stuck in Medellín."
Thankfully, he has since been able to return to the U.S., performing in Fort Lauderdale at Tortuga Music Festival just last week.
